what is the best as "classical guitars high? Spruce or cedar?

What brand and model of classical guitar do you recommend for an intermediate level player? I had Yamaha C40 for 5 years, but few days ago he fell and broke his body while! A good guitar around of 300USD which is better than the above? spruce or cedar? do with changes in its on top? if so how? thank you very much

That is made your choice. Cedar offers a warmer tone while spruce emphasizes the treble a little more. It is entirely a matter of personal taste. I not care cedar on steel string guitars, classical guitar but it is very popular, at least as popular as the spruce. The best thing you can do is try each and decide for yourself. Cedar is much softer and tends to pick up bumps and dents very easily.
