Is this a good starting guitar to buy? Alvarez RD8 Regent Series Dreadnought Acoustic?
It is a very good guitar for a beginner. You do not really need to buy an expensive guitar when you start playing, a simple nylon / steel string guitar will do, and if / when you decide you really like reading, you know what you can and want to upgrade. What to look for is that the neck is not too wide or too narrow for your left hand, and the sound is full, no vibration or strange side effects. If you really like reading, you'll end up with 3 or more guitars after a while anyway.
