What type of paint to use for children to paint on canvas?
I want to display the finished art in their room (8,5,2 years). Do I water acrylic paint some? I want them to be able to disseminate their hands if they choose, and I know that the acrylic paint is a bit thick
As long as you work with children and ensure they do not eat the paint, I recommend the Acrylic for this project. Tempera paint, which is popular for kids projects at school is safe, but is not very stable and if you want to view their paintings for years, the acrylic will give you great color, easy cleaning and durability. Unlike oil painting or watercolor, acrylic often have low levels of hazardous chemicals, especially companies like Liquitex. One company where I get my acrylic paintings Cheap Joes (Boone, North Carolina) because they have good service, decent prices and an okay selection of products, so I recommend them to friends.
