Some tips about cruising the Western Caribbean
We were on the Radiance of the Seas for the cruise on the western November Caribbean 28/04. This was our second cruise with Royal Caribbean with our first last year on the Adventure of the largest Seas. After one cruise with RCI, I expected roughly the same standards of brilliance and, in general, I was not disappointed.
Cabins:
Our stateroom was an inside cabin on the back and we were not disappointed. It was quite spacious and the lighting is adequate. storage space and drawers were also sufficient for this purpose. We have noticed that The double beds here were actually a bit better than we had in the adventure because we could not really feel that the split between two separate beds, as we did last time. One thing that can be improved is the shower curtain. one installed has not been sufficient in all respect in the water in the shower. The shower on the Adventure utilized a double glass door system, which was far superior. If not, the cabin was nice and dark for sleeping at night. Although we have heard a little noise from the cabin next us, it was minimal. We did not fail to have a window or balcony at all since we were almost never in our cabin. We were either the port or elsewhere on the boat and I went back to our cabins just to relax or sleep. We would definitely book an inside cabin again with RCI unless we had a free upgrade.
Dining:
The Cascades main dining room was pleasant and meals were good. Guests have the same menu every morning. Lunch in the dining room was okay. The dinners were good, but not every meal item was a winner. It was the appetizer and dessert that was not strange to the task. One thing my partner has been observed the portions of the main course appears to be smaller than those served in the adventure. In general, we went to the Windjammer to get more food After dining at the Cascades. In some parts of the Cascades room, the tables were placed too cramp so walking to the table of equity has been difficult at times. Self-service Windjammer was good. It generally has a greater variety of food served downstairs in Cascade Range. Breakfast and lunch were busy at the Windjammer, but the evening, most people chose to dine in the Cascades. The two restaurants onboard option Portafino Choppe House and was available at $ 20 U.S. per person, but we tried them since the meals already included in the chain Cascades and Windjammer were fine by us. Other passengers who went to these optional parts have told us they have nothing special. There was another coffee available during late evening called Seaview and they provided such a price as sandwiches, salads and hamburgers. It was an interesting option. One thing we have been they were required for the coffee, and tea. There was also a place of specialty coffee on the centrum of the main ship, and they also loaded. We had more availability of free drinks in the adventure.
Service:
Service by staff and cabin staff dining room was first class as scheduled.
Entertainment:
The evening shows at the Theatre Aurora were a mixture of ship's crew of dancers and singers as well as some outside comics and singers. Generally the shows were very good. We've wanted to mix entertainment every night rather than allocate music, comedy and magic in different evenings. Rather than an entire show of magic, we'd prefer that each music night featuring a variety of entertainments. Live around the ship was a nice touch added.
Amenities:
Although smaller than the adventure, the radiation has fine amenities including gym / spa, mini golf, pools and shops. There was internet access but at 50 cents per minute, the service is a bit steep. There were things to do during days at sea, such as art auctions, cooking and dance demonstrations. However, we felt that there was no longer available adventure. As for embarking and disembarking, there was no problem on the Radiance. Level 6 contained the casino and for non-smokers, this was a problem. The ventilation in the casino was not great and, therefore, a cigarette smoke traveled in adjacent areas near the casino. My partner wanted to avoid going to level 6 as soon as possible.
In summary, we have appreciated our cruise on the influence of the Seas. However, comparing to the great adventure of the sea, we would have the largest ship rates a little higher. We loved Drive on the great adventure that was not available in a smaller boat as radiation. Given the choice in the future, we opt for the largest vessel. For first time cruisers, the radiation would still be a good boat for the holiday. It's simply the case where veteran cruisers expect, especially if they were aboard ships upscale.
