Colson Cayes is another safe anchorage for several fish camps. Cayes offer a shallow lagoon to explore by canoe with a lot of coral nearby for diving.

Tobacco Caye is a fine anchor overnight at unless in a northerly wind. There are several choices for basic meals and a few bars of the island. There is a dive shop for those who enjoy diving and snorkeling much good.

Laughing Bird Caye is only 11 miles from the coast of Placencia, the cay is located in a "faro", an atoll on a continental shelf. It is stiff and surrounds a central lagoon.
