How clean is to Christmas stockings by hand without any damage?

For our first Christmas together, my grandmother had two beautiful knitwear (could be hook) down to my husband and myself. Each of our children have also been given one for their first Christmas. Here problem … one of them has got a kind of place I want to clean. It seems like a thick dust spot. How do I clean the spot without damaging the bottom because it is invaluable / priceless to our family? He seems made of only son, but is also very well done.

I clean the knitwear in cool to cold water with a little mild (flat) of detergent or laundry soap, the kind presenting himself as a solid bar. Rub the soap and turn round between your hands in the water until there is some foam. I use the (freshly cleaned) kitchen sink or bathroom. Press down gently and water. If the stain does not seem to move, rub gently more than soap. You can soak for 15-30 minutes as well. Rinse with cold water until no foam remains. Do not stretch while you are handling it. Carefully squeeze the water, and lay flat on a clean light colored. You can press another towel on top for more water. Make sure it is back to its original form, if not, gently pull or push in the right form. Let them dry flat. I do mine on top of the dryer and the warmth will dry more quickly. You may want to wear rubber gloves, as cold water is best for the mesh, but not my hands, I would not put it in the washing machine at all, laundry bag or not. You can also try to spot clean. Blot it with a damp cloth, face cloth or a light colored towel. Good luck!
