How to make my guitar sound more solid / metal / chunky?

I bought a guitar and now plugged into my bass amp, the clean is fine but when I put the distortion on the metal warped, but no poll and its kind of sounds I do not know how to describe it but it seems that its missing something, this kind is not solid and it seems nasal? its an Epiphone Les Paul II

To begin with, Paul is Less not the best choice for playing metal. Just look at the choice of guitars by some of the well known metal guitar players. You'd be better with a BC Rich, Jackson, Ibanez or ESP LTD (Kirk Hammett choice). Since I play and write music in a wide variety of genres, I chose a Hagstrom Swede who has a dual configuration toggle switch and has a large variety of sounds. Your Les Paul is more than my Hagstrom and you can get a metallic sound to the effect of distortion right. In addition, plugging a guitar into a bass amp that will not get the sound you are looking for either. Here's why … The low notes vibrate in a range of order 30 Hz (5-String) at about 525 Hz note on a guitar vibrates range of 80 Hz to 2350 Hz So while you can hear the notes, you will not get the best sound quality with bass amplifier. You are also testing the speakers bass amp. So, you're much better amplifier guitar for guitar. It's just physics. That's why they make the guitar and bass amplifiers. My personal choice, since I play a 5 string bass, guitar, keyboard, and I sing too, was to buy a power amplifier 500 watts QSC and use it to drive twin JBL 2-way cabinets. I more instruments than their respective effects, then in a blender and drummer runs leading the QSC JBLs. Since I am the bass 5 string, I need a guard of JBL subwoofers that also makes me down to 24 Hz range So I can play an instrument thought my setup and it seems outstanding. OK, so you have your guitar and amplifier were bad wrong. However, I have always believed that you can make a guitar sound as you want if you have the proper equipment and effects. Well, maybe not all the guitars, but many of them. You'll need an amp guitar and you must research the best SAP off its metal. My little son is a metal head and he plays through a Marshall, but he decided he really need a tube amp Mesa Boogie and save for that. What effects? I suggest you go to you tube and listen demos of various effects to see what you like. For my money if you try to sound like Metallica or just get a variety of different sounds, like although the Line 6 POD X3 Live. There is a tube that you video shows you how to program a preset for this purpose that will sound exactly like Metallica. If you can not afford all this equipment right now, and the metal sound is your priority, try the Line 6 distortion pedals. Go listen and see which is the best sound with your Les Paul. Also for metal, you probably want for your bridge pickup than the neck pickup, but I often both to fatten your distortion. If you're really on a budget, try the Behringer distortion pedals that sell for about $ 30 each. If you can not find them locally, you can probably find someone who has made a demo to you tube so you can hear them. I am afraid I have not been too much help here, but you can get a solid metal of the least Paul with good effects. Go try some of them at Guitar Center or your local dealer guitar. First, however, you really need a guitar amplifier unless you decide to follow the path Amp PA as I did. You can also try the 6 Line A, which emulate a variety of other amplifiers. I only read about them, I have no info first hand, but you should go try. In the final analysis, you find the sound you are looking for and how best to do is take your Les Paul, go to guitar center and try stuff on.

Making Movies

Making Movies

$4.49

Making Movies is Dire Straits’s third album and includes several epic numbers that remain among Mark Knopfler’s finest work. “Tunnel of Love, ” “Romeo And Juliet” (covered by the Indigo Girls), and “Solid Rock” all work with the same distinctive galloping rhythm underneath Knopfler’s country-blues staccato guitar. The addition of Springsteen’s E Street Band pianist Roy Bittan hardly seems less a …
