Guitar Hero Guitar Zero Means

Once upon a time, really not very long if you want to know what it was like to play the guitar you bought a guitar, learned some chords and got fingertips sore before strumming the first baby-steps, three or four songs agreement – more often "Knockin On Heavens Door", "Smoke on the Water" or, if you bought a capo too, "Wonderwall".

Then, as you advanced strumming chords you can select individual channels and when you threw in a D and G you had "Everybody Hurts" and that the skills accumulates you could cope with these songs that would break your wrist with the practice such as the circus like riff that opens "Sweet Child of Mine." With Nirvana nailed every riff a sense of satisfaction that emerge and you become brave, tackling more complex soundtracks such as Jane's Addiction "Just Because" before your confidence was enough to play with the critics of the other guitar – or, in technical terms as musicians – And to learn more.

At least that's how I did it.

This is not the same. This thing called Guitar Hero traversed its way from the shop shelves Japanese arcades. A miniature plastic controller shaped guitar with a small color-coded buttons instead frets. No need to learn the current arrangements and riffs when you can push buttons to colors, as a guest along the classical guitar. Then there suites and dedicated editions. Not to mention being able to connect to your partner and games have in face-offs. If only you could do such things with REAL guitars.

Then there's Rock Band – to give you the pleasure of being in a real band, without any of this embarrassing to say, the purchase of instruments, learning instruments, learning and writing songs .. creation. Oh no, who needs when you can spend over 70 quid on a guitar or fake drum kit, which by the way, you look really cool to play and pretend?! Wow, with a song person, a person pushing buttons appear playing the guitar and a color coded hitting pads, it's almost as if you were in a group? Wow.

Let me illustrate The way I see it in terms of devolution of music: Imagine that you walk down the street. You pass a house and the garage door is open, inside a drummer spinning bolts on top of symbols and putting in place while two children churn guitar chords and Kid thin, with a low (they are always the lanky) optimizes. Two minutes later, they are in the midst of a bit loose and slightly detuned cover of "Love Buzz". This is not great, but they get there and in a few months, they will play it in front of people who call themselves something like plastic, glass and people being jumping up and down. The girls will love them, and soon they will be writing their own songs and maybe it is just a mind can be that the record industry is in a terrible state, they might even get to make an album.

Proceed through the street metaphorical.

Now you get to a house without curtains, you can see through the window. Inside there is a great TV and around her three young adults, one of them has what looks like a microphone in hand, another has something resembling a Stratocaster (he says Fender on the same doll, but you can not see the street) and the other is sitting behind what looks like half a drum kit but anyway .. not quite right. While images appear on the screen to begin what seems like a game of make believe and dance around as if they are passing for the band that made music on the game does not matter that they do not write, never mind that they do not know how to really play, but they will pretend they did. After three and a half excruciating minutes of watching these people say (just be thankful the children in this home are not in it enough to dress up too) they are a little excited jump – perhaps even a little chest bump – and celebrating the fact that they have obtained enough points to unlock another song, they are eligible to play.

Now, if people continue to do instead of copying songs in the first place you stopped how music is made? Where is the soundtrack of your game Pretending come? " If you ask me, the only difference between Hero Rock Band / Guitar and the old Harry Enfield sketch of Tim Nice-But Sun rocking with his tennis racket in Dire Strait's "Sultans of Swing" is that racket was not actually the shape of a small plastic guitar and could do something useful, like playing tennis.

It is so bad that the bands are in fact the release of their only songs through these games.

If Yeah, if you want to know what it means to be a gangster and things blow up then by all means by a game. And yes, it can be fun and is faster than learning, but if you want to know what it really play the guitar, you can buy one. You can pick them up cheap enough to start learning about – easily as cheap as buying the game and controllers. If you want to gain experience rock find a couple of friends who play instruments – not toys – and play with them. Believe me, is the most fun you'll have.
